Gone ... aloft joins Amy & Adams’ 4 previous albums in the celebration of the musical journey that rarely repeats itself or rests for long in the same place; theirs and yours. From the Country/Blues/Grassified amble of Gold In Colorado, to the silken intimacy of the whispered Bossa Nova Gone Not Forgotten and the romantic ballad My Sweetest Taste, through the icy jazz combo attack of So Sick Of The Winter, the steel drum Caribbean Buffet I Don’t Want To Work For The Audio King No More, to the soaring orchestral finale Aloft, the writing, the arrangements, the vocals, and the instrumental performances on Gone ... aloft are simply stunning.
These 13 wonderful original songs were brought to life by the same band of exceptionally gifted artists Amy & Adams used on their 4th CD Dancing Through Time: sister Mary Adams, as always, on vocals and harmonica, drummer Ryan Hurn & bassist Rich Brown (one of Branson, MO’s top tier rhythm sections), fiddler, mandolinist, and guitarist extraordinaire (oft Grand Ole Opry sideman) Tim Crouch, and the impeccable Steve Kuether on 7’ grand piano, Hammond B3, accordion, and synth keys.
Recorded at Steve’s Panther Creek studio in the Arkansas Ozarks, Gone ... aloft sounds great on your iPod, or in your car. If you’re lucky enough to own a fine audio or home theater system you can have Amy & Adams & Band right in your own living room.
Gone ... aloft was a fulfilling musical journey for us. We hope it will be for you too.
